UPDATE: Mom does have a bone infection. Her doctor gave her some super duper heavy duty anti bio tics, and may give her foot oxygen therapy. The good news is that she still does not have that foot vacuum thingy back, she doesn't have to have surgery right now, and the wound was a tiny bit smaller. So, all in all it was good news! LET'S PARTY!!
Thank you all for coming today. It is most appreciated. It's nice to have company while one waits for the human to get test results. Snacks of cheese, turkey, ham, salmon, tuna, shrimp, and all varieties of Temptations are over on the table. In the kitchen are bottles of water, faucet water, catnip tea, and tuna juice. Milk is available for the kittens. There are also catnip cookies for the adults. If it is good news, we will have a celebration party! If it's not so good news, you are invited to nap pile my mom. She LOVES kitty love so I know it will make her feel better and cheer her up!
So, as promised I will tell you of the "Squirrel Event." Okay, so mom and I were getting ready to go out and leash walk. I just stepped out the door, and mom opened up the door more so she could get out. Well, just as she did a squirrel bolted past the door, and suddenly I was nose to nose with the squirrel. Mom was thinking, "Ooooh nooooo...." But, sadly I was so startled by the whole thing, I didn't know what to do. I certainly didn't want to traumatize mom by creating blood and gore right in front of her! So, the squirrel and I stared each other down for a few seconds then the squirrel jumped onto the brick ran across and then down to safety. I bolted right back into the house and refused to go back out. I was *NOT* a whus. I was protecting my mom from trauma, all the while practicing great restraint. This is what a mancat does at times! (This is my story and I'm sticking to it!)
Oh, and I NEED TO THANK MOM'S BUSY. Thanks to her my broked tie and other interchangeable ties is now fixed! WOOHOO!! Also, a special thanks to Katoro for my new catnip toy! It's pawsome! =happy happy joy joy dance= Here, let me show you...=pulls out fixed ties and new toy. See....the mouse looks like a giraffe and has a bushy squirrel tail! I call it a squir-gir-mouse! And listen (=rustles it), it's crinkly inside! Life is good! =^.^= Love, Beau

Oh, we're the first ones to start the kitty pile!
We're hoping for good news and a celebration.
We believe you about the squirrel, Beau. We kitties would probably show the same restraint if we met one face to face. But the dogs ... they don't care about traumatizing Jan with blood and gore. They chase the squirrels.
Hi ya, Beau! That was quite the squirrelly story! Of course we believe you were only protecting your mom! Haha!!
We're glad your tie is fixed now too! And we hope we'll be celebrating later! Purrs for your mom!!
That is so thoughtful of you not to make bloods and guts for your mommy. We are hoping for the best today

(((((HUGGGGSSSSSSS)))))) from Your TX furiends,
So glad your Mom doesn't have to have surgery. We are bringing some healing purrs with us and we have heard that dog slobber has healing properties so Fenris will be happy to lick her ouchie for her if she wants.
Thanks for the snacks, they hit the spot.
If you would like Fenris will be happy to chase the squirrel for you. There is one in his yard that loves to tease him. He still hasn't caught it but Mr. Squirrel better watch out cause if Fenris ever learns to climb trees he is in trouble.
We don't think you are a whuss Beau, we think you are a gentlemanly and sensible lad who only has his Mum's best interests at heart, so well done for not getting your hunt on with the squirrel. We are sending rumbly purrs for your Mum's foot to heal up quickly and now we are going to have some catnip tea please. Thanks for invitin' us!

Whoohoo! We just saw your update, and are happy that the news is pretty much good. :) Now, did someone say celebration party?
I'm really glad your mom doesn't have to have surgery at this point. I had surgery on my foot and it was a long recovery process. Please take good care of her and give her lots of kitty love :)
Good for you, for not traumatizing your Mom by creating squirrel gore. That took a lot of restraint!
